Zepto Joins Forces with Labour Ministry to Boost Job Opportunities; Founder Promises Thousands of Openings

New Delhi, India: Quick commerce giant Zepto has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Labour & Employment to enhance employment opportunities and improve youth employability on the National Career Service (NCS) Portal. The MoU was signed in the presence of Union Minister for Labour & Employment and Youth Affairs & Sports, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, at an event in New Delhi today.

NCS: Bridging Employers and Job-Seekers

Addressing the event, Dr. Mandaviya highlighted the growing role of the NCS platform in India’s employment ecosystem:

“The National Career Service platform has emerged as a unique bridge between employers and job-seekers. With over 52 lakh registered employers and nearly 7.5 crore vacancies mobilized since inception, NCS has positioned itself as a one-stop solution for all employment-related services.”

The platform aims to streamline hiring and offer job-seekers tailored opportunities based on their skills, experience, and location.

AI-Powered Future for NCS

Dr. Mandaviya also emphasized the role of technology and AI in shaping the platform’s future:

“Strengthening of the NCS portal through Artificial Intelligence and other world-class digital tools will further enable job-seekers to identify opportunities tailored to their location requirements and respective qualifications.”

With AI integration, the portal is expected to provide personalized job recommendations, optimize skill-matching algorithms, and create a more efficient recruitment ecosystem for both employers and candidates.

Zepto’s Role in Expanding Employment

Zepto’s founder highlighted the company’s commitment to leveraging its operations to create employment opportunities at scale. The quick commerce startup, known for ultra-fast deliveries, aims to bring thousands of new jobs to the NCS portal, ranging from delivery personnel to technology and operations roles.

By partnering with the Ministry, Zepto plans to use its hiring network and expertise to boost employment, particularly for youth and first-time job seekers, while supporting India’s broader digital and economic growth initiatives.

A Win-Win for Employers and Job-Seekers

The collaboration between Zepto and the Labour Ministry reflects a larger trend of public-private partnerships aimed at addressing employment challenges in India. For job-seekers, the MoU promises:

  • Access to thousands of new opportunities across sectors
  • AI-based job recommendations tailored to skills and location
  • Exposure to career growth programs and training initiatives

For employers, the collaboration offers a ready pool of talent, streamlined hiring, and the ability to tap into a digitally empowered workforce.

Zepto’s Broader Vision

The MoU aligns with Zepto’s long-term vision of creating economic opportunities while building a robust workforce ecosystem. As India’s quick commerce market grows, Zepto’s expansion plans are expected to generate employment in logistics, tech, operations, and customer service.

“We aim to provide thousands of job opportunities and help young professionals grow in their careers,” said Zepto’s founder.

With this initiative, the company is not just growing its business footprint but also contributing to national employment objectives, leveraging technology, AI, and strategic partnerships to transform the hiring landscape in India.
