XDLINX Space Labs Secures Million to Launch Revolutionary Satellite Technology!

Hyderabad-based spacetech startup XDLINX Space Labs has successfully raised $7 million in a seed funding round, led by Ashish Kacholia of Lucky Investments. This investment comes from several backers, including E2MC, Mana Ventures, and a notable family office. The funding will help XDLINX advance its mission to transform satellite technology and enhance space exploration through innovative and cost-effective solutions.

What Does XDLINX Space Labs Do?

Founded in 2022, XDLINX Space Labs specializes in providing end-to-end small satellite missions. They handle everything from design and building to operations, making it easier for countries to establish their own space capabilities. Their focus includes:

  • Crafting satellite platforms and payloads for Global Commercial and Defence ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance) missions.
  • Supporting nations in building their Sovereign space capabilities.
  • Offering advanced ISR capabilities that include both optical and signal intelligence.

Their fully configured satellites are tailored for intelligence and surveillance missions, aiming to provide essential services globally.

Key Milestones

XDLINX achieved a significant milestone with the launch of JANUS-1, a software-defined 6U nanosatellite. It was developed in just 10 months and launched on February 10, 2023, aboard ISRO’s SSLV-D2 rocket. This successful launch showcased their ability to significantly reduce both the cost and time required for satellite deployment compared to traditional methods.

CEO’s Vision

Rupesh Gandupalli, CEO and Co-Founder of XDLINX, expressed enthusiasm about the funding, stating it will boost the manufacturing of next-gen payloads for both defense and commercial missions. He highlighted their goal of creating cost-effective satellites using 75% indigenous subsystems. “We look forward to contributing to India’s growing role in the global space race,” Gandupalli said.

What’s Next for XDLINX?

XDLINX is gearing up for its next major project, Elevation-1, which aims to feature the world’s first miniaturized space-grade E-band payload. Scheduled for launch aboard SpaceX’s Transporter-12 mission, this project is set to demonstrate advanced E-band communications with data rates exceeding 10 Gbps.

Additionally, XDLINX is working on a 150KG class satellite that will host Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) and Multi-Spectral optical sensors, slated for launch in Q3-2025. They are also finalizing plans for a sub-meter multi-spectral imagery satellite constellation and have signed MOUs with leading space companies to foster ongoing collaboration.

Conclusion

With a strong focus on innovation and accessibility in space technology, XDLINX Space Labs is positioning itself as a key player in the evolving landscape of satellite missions. The recent funding will help them take significant steps toward achieving their ambitious goals.
