First things first – find an opportunity to guest post. When you look up guest posting opportunities, the key goal should be to find relevant sites for the industry or niche. You want to find blogs matching the following:

  • Niche focused content on the industry
  • Interested audience in the same industry
  • Engaged readership of the blog with socially shared, liked, and commented posts
  • Active blog owner on social networks

For instance, if you sell seeds and plants, you want to look for gardening blogs having an engaged readership of gardeners.

Google is one of the best places to begin searching for opportunities to guest post. Use any keyword search to find relevant blogs that would accept your guest post. Use keywords like “submit guest post”, “guest post”, “accept a guest post” etc. 

Searching any of these keywords can lead you to the guidelines of the guest post page, submission page, and actual posts. 

Prolific Guest Blogger Community

Do you know of some of the popular prolific guest bloggers? People who read enough blogs should know the common names. 

Some of the well-known guest bloggers in influential marketing include Jeff Bullas, Neil Patel, Tony Right, Mark Traphagen, and Jenny Halasz. Of course, there are others. 

Use Google search and lookup for names of relevant and industry-specific guest bloggers with the phrase “guest posts by.” This would reveal the names of the sites where the guest bloggers posted. 

Backlinks

If you worked with a backlink of competitor websites during an SEO campaign, you likely have more competitors having backlinks from your guest posts.

If you use Open Site Explorer, check the backlinks of the competitors to spot the blog posts. If there are none, Google Search again.
