Is having a mentor crucial in the music industry? Music Producer Saqib Aslam aka Apisthebull disagrees

It is a common belief that when you are in the music industry, you need to have connections or loads of money to be successful. However, in the last few years, many new faces in the music industry have been challenging this notion and creating opportunities for the new talent to rise up and live up to their full potential. One such name in the music industry is that of Saqib Aslam popularly known as AP.

He was just in his 20s when he started his music company called Apis Records and the label has been behind two successful music videos, Gimme Sum and Kash.

The 34-year-old producer believes that it is important to work only on music and be confident in yourself instead of relying on others to push you forward. The Hip Hop artist mentions that he had no mentor before he entered the industry music industry and driven by his passion for melody.

“I do everything on my own,” claims AP. In a short span, the music producer has worked hard to provide a safe space for a music artist to create their own identity in this cut-throat world.

His journey has not been easy as he was raised in a tough neighbourhood in San Francisco and had to deal with an identity crisis as a man of Pakistani origin but an American upbringing.

However, with his zeal to work hard and be better, he managed to get graduated from the University of San Francisco. Today, he has worked with award-winning rapper Travis Scott on his music video Butterfly Effect and more videos.

He aims to make a world of music a better place for new budding artists.
