“Adani’s Super App Expands into Digital Lending with New Fintech Partnerships”

Adani’s super app, Adani One, has embarked on digital lending pilots with fintechs and non-banking financial companies (NBFCs) as part of its strategy to diversify its offerings. This initiative, spearheaded by Adani Digital Labs, aims to integrate personal loans into the app’s suite of services.

The app has finalized a partnership with KrazyBee Services, the NBFC arm of fintech firm KreditBee. This collaboration allows Adani One to provide personal loans ranging from Rs 1,000 to Rs 5 lakh, with Adani Digital serving as the lending service provider (LSP). The commissions will vary based on the agreement and loan amount.

Adani One is also in discussions with other NBFCs and fintech companies to expand its range of credit products. The app, which previously focused on travel and airport-related services, is now exploring additional fintech partnerships to enhance its digital presence and user base.

Beyond bill payments and credit cards, the app offers a variety of services including cab bookings, flight reservations, shopping within Adani-operated airports, and a loyalty program. It has also acquired stakes in travel tech firms like Cleartrip and Trainman to bolster its service offerings.

The super app’s latest developments mark a significant step in its evolution from a travel-focused tool to a comprehensive digital platform. Adani One, launched in December 2022, has seen substantial growth, with a user base of 30 million and a gross merchandise value (GMV) of Rs 750 crore in the past year.

The Adani Group is actively pursuing mid-sized fintech deals to further its super app ambitions and connect with 500 million users by 2030. This move aligns with the broader trend of conglomerates and traditional companies entering the super app space, following the lead of players like Reliance and Tata with their respective super apps, MyJio and Neu.

Despite the competitive landscape, no single super app has yet emerged as the dominant player in India’s fragmented market.
